The URBANARA Picnic Event

AA particularly agreeable 26°C and not a cloud in sight: the picnic Gods were kind to us last Wednesday at our first-ever picnic event in Berlin.

Held on the grounds of the gorgeous Zitronencafé in Neukölln’s Körnerpark, we were treated to an absolute gem of a venue in the midst of a lush park – metaphorical worlds away from the bustle and buzz of Berlin’s most notorious hipster quarter.

Against a backdrop of vine-covered atrium, we bedecked a long table with linen (i.e. summer’s start fibre) and handmade crockery in gentle pastel shades. Fruit platters, homemade lemonade, aperol spritz, and canapes completed the Cote d’Azur vibe – one of the season’s biggest summer trends.

Some of our favourite bloggers, Instagrammers, stylists, and editors joined our picnic luncheon. Guests were quick to forego formalities and migrate to summery print picnic blankets, styled with new season accessories.

Throughout, tunes picked out by the lovely interior blogger Herz & Blut mingled with the sounds of trickling water from the nearby fountain, and basically everyone was reminded why Berlin is an unbelievable place to be in summertime.

As the evening drew to an end, summer rainbows appeared in the sprinklers and the smallest of our guests enjoyed a final refreshing hurrah.

We couldn’t have asked for a more lovely day. A big thanks to all our guests, sponsors, and Impulse – our amazing PR agency – for making the day so wonderful. And the German weather Gods. We owe you one. X
