Maple Wood


Maple wood is derived from the maple tree, which is native to Asia, Europe, North Africa and North America. There are two types of maple wood: hard and soft maple wood. Both are used in everything from furniture making to flooring to the manufacture of musical instruments.

Properties and qualities

Both hard and soft maple wood are strong, resistant to splitting and naturally durable. Soft maple has a straight, delicate grain and varies in colour from cream to dark red where as hard maple wood tends to be an off-white cream colour.

Maple wood feels hard to touch.
