Beechwood is derived from the Beech tree, a family of deciduous trees that are native to Europe, Asia and North America. Beech is found in mixed woodland as well as in beech woods, particularly in lowlands but also in low mountainous regions.

Beechwood is a tough wood that is widely used in the construction of houses and in the manufacture of furniture, frames and household items. It is strong and durable with a good resistance to abrasion. Beechwood is white to pinkish brown in colour with a fine grain making it at attractive material for use in homewares.
